It is dancing for me.
No matter how late I return from work I find at least 15 minutes to dance. It doesn’t necessarily need to be a proper form of dancing. Sometimes I just dance crazy just flailing my hands wildly. The peace I get from dancing is incomparable.
I still remember the sound of feet tapping on the wooden auditorium stage during rehearsals in college. Fatigue, hunger never used to bother me while practicing. Sometimes I just close my eyes and imagine myself on that stage, the lights just on me, the whole auditorium cheering and clapping and the music plays… The adrenaline rush and the excitement at that time is something different. It cannot be explained.
We were performing on Gangnam Style in the above picture. I look funny I know. The whole day was crazy. I had been to a friend’s engagement ceremony and my flight got rescheduled. There was no way I could reach in time for my performance. Call it luck or something else, my performance got rescheduled to later in the evening due to some problems in the venue.
Dance keeps my emotions in check. Those few moments of dancing give me all my happy hormones and gets me going.
